TRAINING & COACHING

After studying in London with Ryland Davies and Tim Evans-Jones, Nicholas returned to South Africa in 2005 which coincided with the retirement of one of South Africa’s top teachers, Sarie Lamprecht. She had coached Nicholas from 1995-2004, and following her retirement, many of her most experienced students continued studying under Nicholas, which led to him starting the Melos Africanos Song Studio.

Since then, Nicholas has built up a reputation as an exponent and teacher of a healthy singing technique. Many of his students are active as both performers and recording artists across a diverse spectrum of musical genres.

He is passionate about sharing the knowledge gained over his years of study, and is sought after in technical matters. He regularly offers vocal advice to the choristers in the Symphony Choir of Johannesburg, University of Johannesburg Choir and the Chanticleer Singers. Nicholas is also the vocal supervisor to the Twenty-Tenors who made their debut in 2008.
